1950's airfield fire service

The fire/crash/rescue appliances for a 1950's airfield. All in 1/76, the models are;
1 Modified Oxford Diecast Land Rover.
2 Bedford QL - Pyrene FoT (converted Airfix)
3 Austin K6 FoT (modified Airfix - see picture #4506)
4 Austin K6 CO2 tender (modified Airfix)
5 Austin K6 FoT (standard Airfix)
6 Bedford OW ET. This is one of the latest releases by Oxford and is a little disappointing. The rear bodywork is plastic and has obviously been designed to be multi use with the windows and panel lines simply printed on - not exactly convincing unfortunately. The original ladder gantries were also a little clumsy and have been removed from my model.

Hi Mel,
Is it possible to submit larger size photos (this one is only 600pixels wide, the site works with 735pixels). That way we get to see more details of your models!

Ready for anything Mel.
Nice line up, what did you use to convert the Co2 tender?

Another impressive set up from you, Mel. The 1950s produced some interesting vehicles.

Thanks Marcel.
Mostly plastic card Bob. I got the plans for the CO2 tender from an old copy of Scale Models magazine October 1970. Copies still come up on ebay from time to time.

Thanks Mel BW models also do one.

Be quick if you want a BW one, every day kits are being deleted from the range as they sell out.

Hello Mel, its really nice to see such a classic line-up from the 1950's era, there were I'm sure some brilliant post-war conversions around at that time and you've certainly captured the period in this diorama.
