Handcross dormy shed Southdown

A characteristic of the Southdown bus company shared by other rural operators, was the use of small 'dormy sheds' in which to outstation vehicles. This was a means of avoiding excessive 'dead mileage' by travelling back to a large garage each night. This card model from the Kingsway Models range depicts a two bus shed that still stands, albeit disused in Handcross, Sussex. Shown with 1/76 scale EFE utility Guy bus and Oxford Diecast Morris Minor.

This was on Brighton Rd, Handcross near Crawley, West Sussex. Believe it was demolished around 2015.
Search "Slaugham archives bus garage" on web for pictures.
