Before the wall came down.

This diarama shows a typical old East German fire station from the late 1970's with a range of East German fire appliances from the old GDR period before the Berlin Wall came down between East and West Germany in the late 1980's.
The typical post-war 6 bay fire station in HO scale is totally scratchbuilt using plasti-card.
The German fire engine models in HO scale are from a large range and are produced by a German company called S.E.S.Modellautos of Berlin,Germany.

Hello Paul, thanks for your comments.Yes, I was after some spoked wheels for an ongoing model I'm at present working on, and I now have what I wanted and I've now actually finished the models.
I've now just to make the 1890's period fire station(stations?)and thats another done.
Enjoy your trip to the cold windy city of Chicago and lots of pictures I hope for us all to see.Pete.

Yet another interesting model. You wonder where I get the bits from but there is nothing as unusual as East German fire engine models. Whatever will follow that.
