Station A03 Wickwar

This is Wyvern Fire Brigade station A03 Wickwar. This retained station was built in 1957. On the run is Bedford TK Carmichael WrL CYC130R and Land Rover Series III 109'' Soft Top L4V RYD960K. As can be seen in this picture at a recent training night the firemen had an RTA drill. As the appliances are outside the firemen must be cleaning the appliance bay.

The fire station is a Superquick card kit, the Bedford TK is an off the shelf Oxford Diecast model. The Land Rover is an Airfix plastic kit with a beacon salvaged from a broken Oxford Diecast RAF Ambulance. Finally the decapitated green car is one of several broken Oxford cars I bought cheap. I then removed the doors and roof with a pair of side cutters.

I notice the bodywork on your Bedford TK is parallel with the ground, whereas on all the Oxford Bedford TKs which I have seen it slants upwards from front to rear. Have you corrected your Bedford? If so, I would like to know how, as, if the slant can be corrected, I would like to add an Oxford Bedford TK to my collection.

Hi Bill, I’m just in the process of up-grading the Oxford Die-cast Bedford TK pump, this includes correcting the front end slope, will be up-loading photos and details in the next day or two.

I haven't done anything to my TKs yet. I am not sure if mine sit parallel to the ground, if they do it could be that some were put together better than others.

It wasn't unknown for Bedfords to sit down at the rear end when loaded
